Un-Changed (day 3138)

When the wild worlds awoke
A thunderous cackling was heard
Mystics remained calm
But civilians, no they ruptured
Into the great wide open hands
Of the Gods they revered.
Some, well, some squandered their money
Buying useless diplomas and
Servitude obligations.
Some fell to darkness with devices
Emitting radioactive lights
And chaotic beeping.
Some fell into wildness
Like the river in Spring
Bounding over freshly fallen trees
And moss so thick
It became a cloak for their own dreams.
There was no end promised
To the deafening roar,
No scientific projection
Or mathematical calculation
That could speak for the Gods
Who had thus become maddened.
And in the end,
Well, there was no end
For it was never signaled,
Never announced over loudspeaker
Like each modern God so famed to do,
It was subtle, and thus remained unchanged.
It was the civilians
Who had changed, too busy caught up
To notice that they had changed
And what they had changed for
Had long since been gone away.

Dragon River (day 3135)

Would you cross Dragon river
For an ancient vision?
A world so wild
It seems chaos,
Nothing we can comprehend.
But over there
The drink is good
So freely handed out,
And Horses sit
At card tables
Betting all or nothing again.
The Trees are big
– So gorgeously big –
They take up most the sky,
Very top of horizon!
Monkeys swing from branch to branch
Dropping sweet surprises
Onto hats passing Frolickers
In bed with Froliquettes.
Would you cross that Dragon river
To step upon the other side?
Or would you tighten up your belt
And square down your hat?

Wild Edges of Death (day 3125)

Let me feel the messy you
The one with old sweatpants
That show wild edges of your soul.

Let me smell the rancid death
Of the achings deep inside,
And the cosmic galaxy that lies
Expelled, each pore of your skin
So deeply sensed within my own
A redness on my mind.

Let me hear the groan
Of your hurt and of your gasp,
For the rose becomes
So delicate in death.

Wild Breath (day 3118)

There is an animal that crosses the void
It’s path is not straight
It’s nose is it’s beacon
It knows and is not afraid
And justifiably conversely
Afraid when it does not know
Just like every other
Living organism.
It crosses the void
And stares into the eye of darkness
Tangled with streams of light
That make depth hard to perceive
For it is glorious, this darkness;
The heart of a wild breath
Beats strong in the shaking embers of life.

Little Paw (day 3093)

I wondered lonely as a dog
Tail alert
And pointing to the stars.
A clump of grass
That has a faint scent
Now been marked
By my descent.
A marking of
A wild animal
Caused me to stay
A little while.
Rarely did
I find a path
So straightened that
I did not tarry,
Zig zag was
The route I led
One paw two paw
Three paw four,
Little tracks waiting
Out the door.

Distinct Jumps of the Mind (day 3076)

My mind wanders around
The curves of your soul
So that it jumps and jetters
Like a rusted automobile
Lurching and squeaking,
Solid and heavy
With a distinct perseverance
Against the constant decay
Time always tests.
But it always returns
To the same parking spot,
Slightly encroached upon
By the wild weeds of nature
Also hanging on strong,
So that home is known
And the whispers of water
Flow from my soul to yours
In the dull gray of the road
On the dull gray of the wheel.

Accompanying Nature (day 2991)

I took a step into the forest
So wild and carefully
Paying attention to my every breath
And my ever so lightly step
I heard the sounds of a singing bird
One that wasn’t afraid of me
I heard the songs of swaying trees
Gently cackling at me
As I moved my view became
Biased uncontrollably
For I had become to see life as
Accompanying nature’s needs.
