Secrets

Tell me your secrets today.
It’s raining outside
Like my wishes have gone.
I don’t want sadness much more
So I can sleep in the night
Without dreaming in symbols
Of the dreams I still have.

Tell me your secrets tonight
When I’ve had my dessert
I’ll sit listening intently
Awaiting heat to emanate
Through bones in my skin
Wrinkles and sin
Two ice cubes and you.

No more secrets my dear
It’s a sadness I cannot bear.
Your voice is too soft
My thoughts too far.
My cello keeps drawing lines
Upon the back of my neck.
Will you write me a new song
So I can sing out the last?
My heart keeps trembling
And my eyes keep closing.

Tender Choice (day 3082)

I’m resting in a pool of blood
Taken my very veins
No longer am the man I was
Lost and listless thus I lay.
Once I had dreams so high
Freedom wasn’t just a word
But way of life we embraced truly
From choices we made every day
And a mindspace free of ads.
We called our neighbour each by name
With smiles so friendly we meant
And let our hair go wildly long
A symbol of better days spent.
And in our work, we called none work
For we smiled as we took our crafts
Each craftsman became their tools
Towards a need fulfilled.
We lost this great desire for grandeur
This misleading pretense
Veiling over all of humanity
Since human has become ruled
By magnetic storage and liquid display.
We lost grandeur
And picked up gravitas
Our guiding star
Hands to our hammers.
But now, says I in earnest,
Laying in my pool of blood,
What hath become of mine choice?
So tenderly awake no more.

A Tickle (day 2720)

I’m not quite a random act
A symbol of sympathy
I’m a golden act of courage
And don’t race me a while
For the band-aids and bloodsuckers
Have strangled me again
No release for the vein, man,
So slap the twitch up
Loosening that grip
With a flag for the lost mission
As it’s winding down
Mirth and a jolly laugh
Round the bush and a damn big tree
Giving me a tickle
As release in elevation
So I sank.

This Moon (day 2266)

This moon is alive
It howls with coyotes
And burns with fire
It sings through maples
Blowing softly in night air
And it dances beside stars
That wink as they move.
This moon has brilliance
That squeaks through cracks
Carefully laid to catch
Spiders and light.
But this moon speaks not a word
Lays not a sound to an ear
Because it is alive in night’s embrace
Way up high beyond reach
As a symbol to charge
What hasn’t been remembered.

Weathered (day 2209)

Wished I was a saint
Took my cane with me to work
Held on to a weathered hand
Was caught out in the rain

Left a symbol in the earth
Growth that clouded all designs
Held on to a weathered hand
Ate my heart out in the sun

Giving to little was my lonely grave
Lest beggars break in to settle my nerves
Held on to a weathered hand
There I lay saddened by time

Tea (day 2204)

Make me reel in your sweetest tea
I hear scarlet raindrops
Opening every door so tenderly
Saturate my safely laid plans
With incandescent luminosity
Breaking my lucid dreaming
With delicate fingerprints
Dancing faster then I had imagined
In a gallery of ancient symbols.

Benevolent Symbol (day 1887)

In the passages of my time
I am the benevolent symbol
Laid into seams that easily stretch
From nether regions of
An angry personage
To crispy green crunches
Of fresh Sunrise apples;
Delicate fingertips as I dance merrily
With sunbeams casting minute details
Into consciousness’ unrelenting path.

And if gods were ever here
It was an idle truth,
A crass gesture,
I’ve seen their footprints muddling midday shores
High tide, low tide
Stomping children’s little castles.

Come and get my open arms
My roots are in your hair
My hands are on your hips
My high is for your low
And I am feeling tongue tied.

OK, Lovely (day 1469)

Ok, lovely,
Choose a delicate dance
With sitars, tablas
And magical finger symbols
To gaze upon at request.
Choose a fine hearted view,
Wobbling blue birds
And squabbling hens.
Choose elaborate decor,
Gray walls with fancy lace,
Antlers painted gold,
Desire painted red.
Choose heart,
For nothing else matters.

Horizons Blurred (day 834)

I am sad and lonely
I am the glass that’s been all drunk
Walking along a long straight road
Horizons blurred
Sunlight’s hot
Another day

I am waiting to call your name
I am a symbol of fate
Setting my eyes upon the skies
Circling thoughts
Longest lost
Savior becoming

I am a wooden chair in dusty sunlight
I am spared another year
Reading dusty books
Too awake
Settling fate
Contemplating
