Everglow (day 2547)

I woke into the everglow
Afternoon of an eclipse moon
Sitting by myself I was
Lost and transient
I thought of the tide
Could you take away my glow
Every night I sit upon
Your cleansing salty row
I thought of my sacred moon
Rising in the Pacific Sea
With every breath I take
Bamboo cracks awake in me
I thought of the time it took
To walk my trail I’ve come
I landed here in spite my past
Though rich it let me run
I thought of how long it’s been
That I’ve been dreaming of
Now that I am here dug in
I’ve no more an empty glove

Cold Hands (day 2111)

It’s time for you to go
Dust settled down the row
Sure, it’s been a long time
Dont ever get this way.

Slammed my grace in Dixieland
Endlessly spinning another dime
Cold hands and beating heart
Don’t ever get this way.

Rattle me a sitting bull
Arrow through my my spine
Repeating every second word
You let me get this way.

One Armed Row (day 1684)

Night’s fog had rolled on in
Long voyage to harbour – land ho!
Land at last for this ragged show.
Three fog horns led our fearless captain –
A man too honest for sailor’s gin,
All the way to One Armed Row.
Choicest of ales, where great seamen go,
And also toiled our captain’s sin.

She smiled at all who crossed the hearth:
Fodder for jealous types stuck out in open sea;
Mirth for all at One Armed Row.
Our captain, pure soil of the earth,
Led his men, each as anxious as he
To find what seeds they each could sow.

Stealing Bravery (day 1472)

I had an anchor that crossed my row,
Two by two I’d say and go.
By mystery she held me close,
Just as a panther steals deep night.

But with my heart I brought bright sun
To cleanse the soil with rivers strong.
Running wild they’d overrun
Into a lake of sunken mystery.

Here I’d find her like a swan,
Carefully bathing amidst my song.
I watched her then, as I do now,
Willing my bravery into her lungs.
