Un-Changed (day 3138)

When the wild worlds awoke
A thunderous cackling was heard
Mystics remained calm
But civilians, no they ruptured
Into the great wide open hands
Of the Gods they revered.
Some, well, some squandered their money
Buying useless diplomas and
Servitude obligations.
Some fell to darkness with devices
Emitting radioactive lights
And chaotic beeping.
Some fell into wildness
Like the river in Spring
Bounding over freshly fallen trees
And moss so thick
It became a cloak for their own dreams.
There was no end promised
To the deafening roar,
No scientific projection
Or mathematical calculation
That could speak for the Gods
Who had thus become maddened.
And in the end,
Well, there was no end
For it was never signaled,
Never announced over loudspeaker
Like each modern God so famed to do,
It was subtle, and thus remained unchanged.
It was the civilians
Who had changed, too busy caught up
To notice that they had changed
And what they had changed for
Had long since been gone away.

Changes (day 2864)

Fires woke and excited the beast
Roaring in a blaze.
Night curling around dark poles
Eyes intently gazed.

Lips so pure; an Angel descended
Lightly touching down
Afraid of nothing, no need to be
As day broke all around.

Visions of a playful glen
Peaceful animals, babbling stream
Walking with a certain gait
Midsummer’s healthiest dream.

A Freedom (day 2797)

I don’t know what piece of you wants to be free
I’ve searched a while now
A long walk through the forest
And only tracks of wild animals show.
Your mind has spoken
But your heart stays back still
Relentless and wandering
You have yet to let go.
I can open screen doors
To hear the sweet lion roar,
I can warp time inside flannel
And forget about mountains
I’ve left there, behind,
But of your freedom
-Your moment of truth,
Where doth escape render;
Ultimate faith
Shall hold the reins
For this wild beast.

Slopes (day 2782)

Slippery slopes
Drag my heart
To a place I cannot return
A valley so full
Vibrantly
Shooting up with growth
Where wild beasts roar
Soft grasses blow
Precious flowers
Emerge from every inch of soil
And naked she stands
Before minds eye
Heavenly traced
And here I stay.

Mountain Tops (day 2573)

I roared so fiercely through my being
I shook the mountain tops so high,
Upon which to leave a plateau
For your grace to rest upon.
And like the forest we crossed below,
We screamed of wilderness!
A yell that shook the river’s flow –
Turbulent and rambling froth.
Now the golden lace of sun
Set its throbbing fingers upon
Your back of a leopard’s frame
Which gave way to the universe’s spin.

Down Below (day 1588)

Can you hear everything I said?
Is the light here turned down too low?
I am coming out of my oblivion
And I don’t think it’s alright
To mend those sidebars and widgets
Until the storm has passed
And we’ve long cleared the roar
Coming from the spear-tipped legion
Down below.
