Ode to Rainfall (day 2658)

For you to begin
Means life can begin
Means your open waves
Flush out our open growth
Greenery, life, bounty
Aglow in the mist of it all
Where wildflowers grow
Where rivers flow
Where, cleansing,
Mountain passes erode and expose
New meaningful branches
That drip drops pulse
Of your giving force
To flood river deltas
That give to each ocean
What was once so far
Only to begin again
The cycle of evaporation,
Condensation, rainfall.

The Moon (day 2540)

I opened up my window to see
Full moon at my scape,
Emotion flowed from my lips
Leading me into night.

I found a letter on my mind
That began to ring so true
Aligning with my intentions
I had thought through and through.

I roused my warrior to a sweat
How could we lead otherwise!
And into night we danced our dance
For intentioning our life.

Beginning as a quiet chant
Roused by midnight firelight
Spiraling towards the moon
As rivers go on to ocean.

I swallowed in the moon
With ten thousand breaths
Tomorrow to wake again
Bound on my path.

For Not Latent Desire (day 2471)

I don’t know how to say I love you
Without loving you entirely, Lisa
I pace back and forth in my room
Questioning myself like a mathematician
Struggling out the answer to
A deepened understanding.
Some days it’s ok, I can love you
Without desiring the distance we’ve never had,
The whisper in your ear,
The smile that finds your lips
Too close to mine for latent desire
Stirring within the very breath I take.
So I love you with trembling fingers
Tentatively resisting your jungleness,
I love you though I’m calculating
With a pen I’m expertly etching
A solution to you entirely open
On a boat in the great wide ocean.

Littlest of All (day 2404)

I’m growing fond of settling my little love
Inside fountains of my deepest thought
Seems like I’m getting very pleased
And I look out to waves like I’m never there.
Can you hear me here? I’m missing you.
I’m missing you my softest waves
Since you’re riding home on a little breeze
Taking each little love from me, out of sight
I am on a heavy note to which I lightly float
And settling into what ocean breeze
Finds the fountain of my deepest thought.

Letters in her Name (day 2360)

Letters in her name were written
Softly in his hand
Two times he wrote them out
One for each their dearest pocket.

– Could it symbolize their path?
Sequestration of thy heart –

To each thy moon
Held, succumb’d to fate
Was at thee other’s
Fulfilling sun.
Though seasons matched,
Callused hands
Caused the ocean
To remain
Disunited.

– Seasoned seas could not forgive
Even as thy beggar holds –

Placed into canals
Where roses floated softly
Sat thoughts burgeoning
As if memory’s remains
Were fertile soil
To plant new clippings
Sitting abreast.

Connect (day 2254)

Calmness is my pressure
A systematic indulgence
That crosses over boundaries
Calling names
At single use disposable users
A tire track
With endless amounts of windows
At an ocean view exploration
A landfill with no name
With no responsibility
Because nobody actually knows
Where disposable income goes
Wake up with an eye sore
And slice the issue out
Organically disposable non-issue
An ocean of non-issue
A backyard of non-issue
A driveway with no grass
Beside a lawn with perfect grass
Clear boundaries
In a global world
Connected
Indiscreet and moving
Migrating in our uncomfort
Like comfortable shoes
Worn well
While shopping for a new pair
And comfortably disposing
Of my connect.

Just A Little (day 2073)

It’s days like these
Rolled over, stuffed in
Left sleeping
With tired eyes
Lost on a distant horizon
A breath, heavy
Somewhere between asthma
And an eagle’s scream
Washed in the lapping ocean
And swept away
By the wind
Leaving heavy drops
Crawling down my cheek
And humming a slow song
That’re maybe
Just a little sad.

Every Morning’s Breakfast (day 1932)

I don’t want to fall into what I’ve never believed,
I want to fall into just you and me.
Late night snacking upon our ruffled sheets,
And every morning’s breakfast
Made for two, that’s you and me.
I want to go for daily picnics
In amongst our wild and thriving garden
Like the love we feed each other
From the bottoms of our feet
That touch under covers
When we’re playing hide and seek,
I want to grow into our house
With your little things hanging everywhere
I want to journey long and far
With your laundry in my bag
Because forever I want to carry
What burdens you, nevermore.
I want it to be just you and me
With a candle makes three
Over dinner we made together
Bums touching as we danced and poured
Our love freely like wine.
And our love intoxicating!
With every breath we share together
Will be sweet wine hand in hand
From our bottomless bottle
Of our hearts we’ve tied together
When we plunged under the oceans spray,
When we first danced the night away.
