Valiant Horses (day 1609)

Without a lying centaur
There is hardly room for flight,
Hardly time to come around
Into the battle ground

Without a thousand windowsills
Fighting to see the light,
I’d never be able to win a lady
Like eyes of my dear Queen Night.

Without a legend to run away
Into the darkest fight,
What good would valiant horses have
If days were love and gait.

Without a trail of mystery
What good would bows and arrows be?
If animals had thicker skin;
My time is coming in.

Evening Rainbow (day 1564)

I watched a rainbow slowly cross the sky last night,
Wishing upon the earth two saintly moments of fleeting clarity
That soon washed into the sea
With a distant siren that bled maroon.
My kaleidescope of love patterned Opalesque
Onto the back of my hand,
Which I watched like a psychedelic memory
Until once again the giant autumn sun
Quivered in the darkening sky
And laid its sleepy plans and rustic tools down
For an evening of mystery and forbidden colors.

At Sea’s Shore (day 1500)

Wisdom is an empty sea
And I have gone too far.
I lost my rope, my sign, my star
To keep me mind at ease.
But in this dream my mind was free!
Not holding on as tar,
A flow that never was thy scar.
For if the heart pulls back to flee
The soul knows: nevermore,
Which leaves a man in misery –
A fate no soul should score.
So which of you are ready for:
The lad with eyes of mystery,
Or a maiden waiting at sea’s shore?

Backward Bend (day 1489)

I want you like a snake curls,
As a peacock never ends.
I’ve made a million signs to the world
I’m waiting for just one.
Truth beyond this harmony
In a street of mystery;
Forgot an innocence only
To play abandon in the long grass;
A misconception I have waited for,
No devil I ignored.
Head to tail in a loop,
Head to tail backward bend.

Stealing Bravery (day 1472)

I had an anchor that crossed my row,
Two by two I’d say and go.
By mystery she held me close,
Just as a panther steals deep night.

But with my heart I brought bright sun
To cleanse the soil with rivers strong.
Running wild they’d overrun
Into a lake of sunken mystery.

Here I’d find her like a swan,
Carefully bathing amidst my song.
I watched her then, as I do now,
Willing my bravery into her lungs.

Undying (day 1256)

Seeking an understanding
Wrestles into a blackness,
A hole of undying emptyness
Void from here to there.

Like love for another soul,
Escaping through the night
Down cobblestone streets
Filled with reflecting pools of water.

Undying breeds symphony.
Undying curls it’s mystery
Inside out, until it wriggles
Up. Up and out.

Gone (day 493)

Gone is the sanity that I have rested upon
Gone is the broken wing I have mended so long
Gone is the eye of love, heralded with steel
Gone is the breakers edge, chariots wheel
Gone is the mystery of histories story
Gone is the evidence in a place of once glory
Gone is the solitude enjoyed in the park
Gone is the morning call, a flick and a spark
Gone is the choke ring about my own neck
Gone is the control once held at my beck
Gone is the grass I’ve laid with my own two hands
Gone is the bitter truth that never parts from these lands

Dances By Firelight (day 243)

She ruffles the bubbling waters
With the smooth grace she employs
Dipping deeper until mystery engulfs
[How we’ve found our simple delight
In watching our midnight dreams]
Floating around in dancing firelight
Perhaps the gods knew of such thunder
Brought forth for jeweled goddesses
Richly adorned with priceless amour
Carelessly discarded as richly bought
Like the garments holding back love
[Into the night she shall roam]
