Horizons Blurred (day 834)

I am sad and lonely
I am the glass that’s been all drunk
Walking along a long straight road
Horizons blurred
Sunlight’s hot
Another day

I am waiting to call your name
I am a symbol of fate
Setting my eyes upon the skies
Circling thoughts
Longest lost
Savior becoming

I am a wooden chair in dusty sunlight
I am spared another year
Reading dusty books
Too awake
Settling fate
Contemplating

Aside (day 832)

Things I’ve left behind
Oh, things I’ve left aside
I’ve walked along the road
And down, down, down the ol’ block
Hands hidden deep
Beneath layers upon layers

Oh why did I sleep
Why did I take that lonely step
These times as they’ve left behind
Oh things I’ve left behind
Drag on the changes of my mind

Where does it go
Tell me, where does it all go
When I’m occupied
Searching for changes, aside
Oh, the things I’ve left behind
Why did I stop, time on my mind
Stumbling down this block

Fall (day 812)

I lost that feeling deep within the cavernous region of my lonely heart
When the holy sun set upon the western banks of euphoria
My fingers crawled with memories over burning sand shifting away time
Like Mother Nature’s wiles as summer turns to fall
Leaves challenging gravity to a duo, a fate well known to man
Fruits come to spoil and nights come to close amongst sober flight
Silently and diligently animals march their way with instincts
Into warmer climes and distant hills, far off ponds of migration
Flocks and herds and pods and groups and hibernation
With the great cycle of life: life and death and birth and age
And here I sit: legs crossed with my third eye alert
Searching amongst the birch trees and clovers for only that which comes
Without forced determination, without abrupt distraction
As the harvest moon breaches the young evenings virginity
And the lone coyote sings a song of love into the cool night air

And If We Did (day 679)

If I were to stumble
Leaving days breath behind
If I were to turn
Sheltered from darkness
If my head were to fall
Eyes wet with pain

What would you do
As our hearts broke together?

If I left no trace
Walking through history
If I whispered on
In distant memories once dreamt
If I shifted sleepily
In a bed once shared

What would you do
As pages pulled at your heart?

If gifts lay dusty
Upon lonely night stands
If smells lingered on
In shirts worn well
If keys clicked no more
For letters of amour

What would you do
As time trickled on?

Bow and Arrows (day 597)

Pull me apart with a thousand broken arrows
Tell me secrets of a far off and lonely maiden
Give me history we’ve never written down
And tear out my soul to feed wizards
That grant me three wishes that open realms
I fly to with all winds at my back
For future walks with thousands of bows
Bending under the pressures of love

Fall Evening (day 524)

Windows fall lonely with the setting sun
Gold shadows are cast through the valley
And yellow tipped leaves sitting on trees
Balance the deep evergreen with the
Dying grass, splayed deep into the horizon

And with the deep fall night falling heavily
the mist at the East end of the valley rises
As if gyros were actively spewing steam forth
From its guttural bowels in sighs of relief

One moment a deep gold descends upon the valley
And in the next breath an early evening dusk
Settles itself upon the livestock that graze
The giant fur stretch their arms wide
Before they fall into a long nights slumber

Dust (day 472)

A lonely seat that waits at the end of the bar
Clears the cobwebs from ones imagination
Marrying innocence to thick laid smoke dust
That one can never quite resist smudging

Perhaps that’s when the ghosts return
Walking in like they’ve never left the place
Light beams catch the dust they turn up
Barkeep still remembers their favorite drink

Their old friends come up and say hi again
Laughing as if one am just rolled around
Not enough, but still a lot
They wont be going home early tonight

The bottles at the top call out quietly
Asking what day it is today
It always speaks in that aged, wise way
That understands it’s all going to be alright

But where did my companions all go
The rest of them dance around here merrily
Red cheeks and full bellies roll
And the door swings shut, silence spills around

Whispers Tonight (day 437)

The lonely planet whispers into my ears tonight
Talks in dreams and far off stars
It speaks to me in words unspoken
It calls out like a mourning mother
But peace resumes like far off settlers
Half way there and looking yonder
There is hope out there and much to gather
Mindful sights as we sit here together
The night and me speaking in whispers tonight
