Ode to Ruu, A Good Dog (day 2801)

I don’t want to forget you, my little man
Though I know time will ease
What harsh corners left your wake.
I see your bounce,
Your lovely heart,
Your ever curious nudge
Jumping at my dangling hand
Across the yard in little chatter
As day awakes and starts again.
Your nose was really ever curious,
I watched you learn it’s newness
Opening for you an abundance
Across the fields you searched.
Our forest was quiet this morning
Moreso than ever before
No Ruu to keep me safe
From distant thumping of a small grouse
Crashing as you made your way
From one to another I could not see.
The dam I use to cross the creek
I remember the first time
You fought your fear and jumped with me!
How excited you were from thenceforth
To cross across and back again,
You’d run around and back and forth
Bounding with the joy of life.
Your presence brought us all alive,
Not a feat to misunderstand,
For since the day we found each other
The farm was changed:
Day’s toil was full of a scamp
Day’s end was full of a laughs
Day’s start was full of curious.
And today, Ruu, I miss all of you
For it was you who was so true
And tomorrow, I’ll miss you then
For your work was just beginning
We had plans for which you were the Keystone,
Friends for which you were the leader,
In short, a homestead
For which you were the center.
Goodbye dear Ruunikakonikakovski
You live in my heart
Though you are now free.

Littlest of All (day 2404)

I’m growing fond of settling my little love
Inside fountains of my deepest thought
Seems like I’m getting very pleased
And I look out to waves like I’m never there.
Can you hear me here? I’m missing you.
I’m missing you my softest waves
Since you’re riding home on a little breeze
Taking each little love from me, out of sight
I am on a heavy note to which I lightly float
And settling into what ocean breeze
Finds the fountain of my deepest thought.

Little Spoon (day 1118)

I am the little spoon
That lives in the hill,
Scalloping hoodwinks
With masterful might.
An age old tradition
My father’s father told,
Forgiveness unheard to
Plant out my soul,
For I am the little spoon!
Happy lives fold.
Yet here I am
Amongst leftover pine,
A scraggly drain
In a dirty edged pond,
Mystery splashes
To my father’s better half,
Which I cannot explain anymore.
Which I ply with my little spoon.

Much Brighter (day 1018)

The little lover knew no other
But all she had was fits and slobber
The man she loved was much too clever
To hold onto a dying ember
To which begins the sad sad tale
Of the little lover and her
Quest of building ever stronger
Which she blossomed into a Queen
Who loved to laugh and delight in grandeur
And in the end she was much brighter
For being the girl of fits and slobber

Slow Growth (day 111)

Today is a day
Where I’ve so much to do
Yet today is a day
That I don’t want to move

I’ve got a big list
I see it right here
Yet legs are immobile
And heart is glued

So what do I do
With this day today
A day I’ve got plans
But little of movement

I guess one could say
I’m old growth decay
Slow to move on
But so much I’ve planned
