Floral and Gumboots (day 523)

As I lay awake stretching my arms into the night sky above
Tears rolling through the skies that collect in little goblets
Systematically sparkling in the moonlight
Perched upon the damp leaves that grace the soft grass beneath

I remember a fond time of innocence so many years ago now
When I rolled in virgin wool with one desire upon my mind
Not a single breath thought to be wasted in trivial pursuit
Time killed that messenger of fate as the dawn broke

Ripping those angels wings that shared with me deep thoughts
I cried without relent into the sleeves my dear mother had sewn
Passion and ignorance and dancing with the desires of wine
Pulling at the strings like a cheap shadow theater

Perhaps the dreams are the sum of my existence
The push that keeps me reeling at the sound of footsteps
And floral, forever floral with gumboots
Padding softly along with damp kisses on my neck that leave doors open

Escaping Me (day 463)

The love notes I want to write to you
Escape me as I close my eyes
I swiftly let the dreams wash over
Carrying me to another place

But the distance doesn’t shrink then
The memory becomes harder to believe
The factory my soul was processed in
Left the angels feet cold and wet

Perhaps though, it will not end
Perhaps the notes will carry me forth
Stepping aside from the guerrilla pen
I crawl back into the omnipresent void

Do signs share with you your fate too?
The ways of sands don’t let me sleep
The cold I’ve felt and never breathed
Is my own soul, escaping me

Dark (day 425)

You will run but you cannot escape my all seeing, all knowing eye
Forget not that I see no boundaries, I will peer through that mask
Directly at the shadowed eyes that burn fists of fire through my soul
I will not let you run with your heels of fire digging into my sin
Resting for only little bits of laughter let loose into the blue nights sky
Late the raven calls upon the unsuspecting pray as it lies in shame
Hidden beneath the oak tree, wasted as if perturbed by an inescapable fate

Gather your storms you mighty Gods
Forgive me not for my ugly sins
Forgive the rain for soiling the earth
Giving it light and day
But not I, the doer of dark

In time the noose shall loosen from around the bitter Apollo’s neck
Released from the havoc that only the underground animals shall ever know
Hidden from the gems that ignite the last memories of a dying man
Crying from the birth that has taken place in time since we last spoke
And pacing restlessly along the cold stone candle lit memories
Trying to rid my withered bones of the transcendental war
Do not forget to close the door as you step inside the chamber of health

Airplanes and Tunnels (day 343)

The listful waves roll smooth here now
As the cold seeks out the exposed arms
The wind, it reminds us of the time of year
To which we submit, recursively forever more

We wonder aloud of what shall become of us
Two birds that dare to dream together
A callused palm that rest a while
A sore leg that cries a little

With airplanes and tunnels awaiting fate
The dungeons of space will cry their state
And turnpikes will collect their due toll
We both shall gain together, so much more

With night skies they wake
With cold nights they shake
The morning dew from beneath their brow
A land, begone, ones future riddle

Laid (day 320)

I’ve punished you for your sins
This task hasn’t been easy
As I’ve watched you suffer here
From my spot of total control

I’ve laid down the obstacles
You’ve fought along the way
That have caused you great grief
And left you helplessly stricken

The reason for this madness
For all of this torment
Is written in books
Laid out in the plans

But, I suppose you missed those
As you tramped forth on your way
To busy to heed the warnings
In your adversity ways

Ignorance hasn’t paid off then
Has it for you?
Do you regret what you’ve done
As you sit at the gates?

Regardless, this is the fate
You’ve chosen to face
I played out your cards
You thought you had laid
