Wondering (day 2899)

I wondered how many stars could align
How many mistakes I could ever make
I wondered if there was any way in the world
I could ever make sense of what I could not learn.

I wondered if there was beautiful symmetry
In the colours that lay upon Bumble Bees back
I wondered if Tree had the consciousness
To let out its needles and drop all its leaves.

I wondered how Weeds felt blowing in the wind
I wondered how Evening felt always chasing the day
I wondered how Birds felt calling out in vain
And on everything dust settles like snow and the rain.

To Know (day 2756)

I’d like to know what your skin feels like
Wrapped so close against mine,
A hide so eager for my sense of skin
Gently pulling as a great test.
Oh, to see what sensual emotions
Ripple to each sensitive limb!
Uncontrolled discovery
Warms a fire within.
I’d like to know your skin
So each evening I lay beside
In awe I’d fall asleep amidst
It’s radiant pulsing from thy being.
Holy sense I have to find!
What could be life there by your side!

Evening Moon (day 2587)

I shared my evening with Moon
Who called me out to sing
Amidst the blowing wind, still warm,
Among ten thousand stars aglow.
I sang my song of mystery
That flowed as river flows
Caught in dramatic scenes of adventure
Tales of foreign lands.
Many parts were left as vague
To keep full truths unknown,
A meagre lesson amidst the stars
Who’ve been around once before.
My soul, it spoke through all the smoke
Allegory or not: truisms,
That called me off to bed at last,
A fair sight for evening Moon.

Into Fire (day 2379)

Whistling to myself as I
Float on into a fire

Carry this for me a while
Rumbling as the chains do roll
An offering shall go

Love last breaths I give away
Evening cherishes mine name

Thunderstorm and rainclouds
Unearthed and saving gravity
Such lays ahead thou plan

Reighning in thy terror’s breath
Hallowed in contempt.

Cracking Ice (day 2078)

I awoke with two round moons
Holding my hands
Asking me to cherish
Each breath I was given to take
I slowly drew one in
And icicles formed on my beard
Tingling each lung
One quiver at a time
Until my thoughts all vanished
Like the sounds of cracking ice
And light arose
From tips of frozen fir
Grand Douglas firs
Silhouetted as snowy boughs
That stood watch
One more evening.

Smokey Summer (day 1136)

Smokey bandages flutter through the evening sky.
An autumn sun burns the day’s light
Through whiskey breath and campfire.
Cooling breeze shelters the afflicted from blackened breath,
Dire, sister, dire.
Animals have no home, foraging between un-agreed upon lines of human traffic.
Chain link fences only survive through this madness.

Don’t Have to Get Elsewhere (day 1024)

My baby’s the kind of sex
I don’t have to get elsewhere
To her I run and I hide
Inside every desire to me

My baby’s the art of performance
She’s a changing rhythm, time
And I’m right in it
Leading the orchestration

My baby’s the whispering winds
Coming to me at all angles
In the evening hours she whispers
In the daylight hours she screams

Signatures (day 1022)

Where dizzying spells
Slowly pulled me around
To break sound echoing
Of morning Woodpeckers

Resting my eyes
Into the darkness
Into the evening
Into my soul
That searches endlessly
As torches blaze on
In the far off distance
Awaiting our great Mother
To signal once more
That daybreak is upon us

Rupturing tranquility
Into a heavens daze
A fresh smell of lilacs
And signatures begin their drawl

The Seasons (day 605)

And fantasy breaks over the ice like award winning actors
Carefully floating its sadness into the cracks of the frost
Sculpting majestic kingdoms for antique traveling

Who walks away with the prize when all soldiers cry?
Dim spots of light fill the sadness over the meadow
While blood nourishes the fresh roots finding the new morning

For then, after one evening of bonfires and dancing
The heavens broke open and spilled out eternity
Laughing out loud as if pricked by cupid himself

As dances all came to a finale and bow
The feelings rustled down in orange and red leaves
With freshly cut pine keeping warmth in the fire
