Wisdom shocked the senses
Into thinking of a way out.
Too many goblins chatting
At the back door, closing soon.
Laying sun in crimson skin
Knicked at the very tips
Of mirth and exposed bits,
Beneath a woven scarf
Tied much to tight;
Killed in a drunken sun.

All Night Long (day 1458)
There are leftover bottles
Sitting on a dusty piano
Forgotten in the corner
Singing heartfelt bluegrass
To drunken loners
Habitually smoking
Leftover cigarollas
From playboys and their lovers
Who wore deep pocketed holes
In a beer stained dance floor
That sang hip songs
From an old jukebox
With burnt out numbers
Shuffling in the corner
All night long.
Distracted (day 1199)
I ran into a solid wall
Ten feet by ten feet wide.
It wasn’t for any science test,
Nor for a high paying bet.
It wasn’t for a parkour feat,
Misunderstanding or drunken stupor.
No, I had my eyes diverted,
Turned, distracted.
For there she walked.
