Decorate My Lapel (day 1016)

If we don’t lose it all
Then how much do we lose?

Knot worn and grumpy,
En-sensed long and tall,
A scapular in my heart,
A devil to my breath.

Where wicked thoughts laughter
Knees into our death;
My agony shelters fluttered beats
From wisdom setting free.

Decorate my lapel
Like honey in my hair,
18 mistakes I’ve made;
Black beckons fate.

Letters smudging fade,
Discourse setting deep,
Concubine’s white cotton leather
And my divine.

Crowd Sourcing (day 1004)

An eager atmosphere pushed the Devil to yell
He barked at the moon like he was rattling hell!
And out from the works came scuttling all
To exercise weeping; watch the blood fall

Leveraging our fathers (our mothers) with time
In a forceful toil-workers rhyme
Which consumed a brackishly concocted design
Of feathers and chicken bones and half frozen lime

We beat reason into apathetic institutions
Who spoiled magical innocence and intuitions.
We followed the Devil with dazzling premonitions
And were left alone; a severe lack of solutions

But whispers died slowly as the fog rolled away
Laughter could be heard above those who’d been slay
All in a night which reeked of delay
And the Devil returned home carrying his lay

Anderson the Tender and Marianda Hamphretta Dalsento (day 753)

Mom, will I ever be able to fly?
-no dear, you do not have any wings
But, you can climb better than any bird

Mom, will I ever learn to sing a song?
-no dear, not like the birds that you hear
But, sounds you can make is music to my ears

Mom, are we really the devil’s animal?
-no dear, not anything near to it
But, it will do you good to be cautious of your ways

Mom, will I ever become bad and devil like?
-no dear, you’re heart will always be where you place it
But, that is not to say you can not become

Mom, will this tree always be our home?
-no dear, humans will cut these trees soon
But, we will move on and build a new home

Mom, will I always stay this small?
-no dear, you will grow up to be a very fine sloth
But, you must remember to eat your vegetables to ensure it

Mom, can we stay here for a while?
-yes dear, I like it just where we are

Safety (day 603)

Drifting through the streets of time
I fall over the edges of life
I whisper to the devils wings
That hover close to my leftover bread
I cry when I watch the sun go down
Perfect desperation I can never control
But loosely I dangle the stranglehold
The true release of tension
Between my staunch sober lips
Dragging out time
In a never ending hustle homeward
Perhaps it’s this thought here
That leads me into the bliss
Forgotten in a moments serenity
I’ve left nothing to spare

Wild Coyote Howls (day 436)

When you got freckles like that
There ain’t nothing going wrong
The devil himself
Has got eyes that long
And the world that spins
Skips a beat as you dance
When you got freckles like that
There ain’t nothing going wrong

When you got hips that move
Like a good girls should
There’s bound to be a groove
That lasts so long
With hands held high
You can touch the sky
When you got hips that move
Like a good girls should

When you shoot that grin
There’s a wild coyote that howls
Like mother natures sin
It’s good to dig deeper
When it lasts like a memory
Clutched to the bosom
When you shoot that grin
There’s a wild coyote that howls

Atop This Hill (day 357)

I’m not alone on this hill
Of which I sit atop here today
No, I’m joined by a few
Estranged souls come to view

One of which that has hair
The fiery red of the devil
Another with hair of an angel
A third who has hair
So dark that it shines
Against the pale blue
Above here today

That man over there
With wild hair and a beard
Perhaps intends to imitate
Orwell in his form!

Ah what a day
What a glorious day
Alive here in London
And these trees

I can hear in the distance
Children playing and laughing
As if school weren’t still in session
Perhaps it’s the day
Where all go out to play
Giving teachers a moment to relax

…side note: I should have brought corn nuts with me up here…

A Perfect Sin (day 59)

Today has been a day of love
A day of passing and of ever lasting
Today has been a day to record
All I’ve thought of, all that’s passed

I’ve been to the moon,
And I’ve sailed right back
I’ve followed a star
As it raced through the sky

Today I lost a little letter
That read like vanilla upon smooth silk
It fell between the whispered promises
That left a stain on glittered premises

I’ve held onto sympathetic angels
But like grasping at air
I’ve witnessed them crashing
As I’ve called out their names

Today I threaded with the devil’s needle
It felt like I sinned
Today I couldn’t help smiling
I’ve lived a little, and boy it sure feels good.
