To Stand (day 2199)

Thought I was the one, man
Took every last dime
Crawled away in darkness
Head hung not so high
Wished upon a night sky
For strength to stand my way
How many more upsets
Must I leave away in earnest
Take my hands from the cutting block
I’m still able to stand
But I thought I was the one
And here I am still a man.

Born a Leopard (day 2147)

I was born a leopard
Faster then lightening
With a fierce bite
Family has answers
And I don’t travel in a pack

Let the moon crawl
As each spot upon my back
Snarl in the pale light
This is a silver ghost
And I don’t listen to whispers

Forget we are dancers
Paws in the sand
Rooting like trees
Leaning as the wind goes
And I don’t run without answers

Dionysians (day 1740)

I’ve written about an ancient earth
Left to crawl alone, alone.
Shaken and blurred with ghastly turd
To wrastle for each their top.
All in time a second chance
To few artistic Dionysians,
Who left their mark in deep white sand,
Unintelligible and very discreet.

Dusk in the Valley (day 1710)

Night falls in quietening circles
Swiftly crawling away in crackles,
And my footsteps leave traces for
Two days more
Until it thaws.

Just as Helios had mounted high
Upon our valleys Eastern slope,
He chased birds as frost’s glove
About, appalled,
Distraught.

So now we wait as new circles retreat
Into twilight’s thin air,
Blues to blacks
And a star lit map
Guides us forever home.

Drying Grime (day 1591)

Loser my integration
Chop all my hair off
And crawl around muddy
With a holey umbrella
Crackling at Gods
Who have tormented
Mute city sidewalks
Just as lame bullywicks
Who discard butts
Like scabs they
Incessantly pick at.
And sweep drying grime
Across squished bananas
To make a heart beat
Again tomorrow.

In Love (day 1574)

I am hopelessly in love
With words I cannot explain,
With a world so far away
Lost into the abyss of time.
Yet me, in my stubborn nature
Crawl, nay, scramble through rubble
To find exact duplications
That fit my heart just right
And let this feeling linger
Until my eyes close
And heart beats on.

Steam Engine (day 1566)

Can you imagine my heartbeat
– Pitter patter it goes –
Living in a coiled roll
Ready to pounce and
Starting at the slightest of moments.
Can you imagine breath
Holding itself upon faint whispers
Scarcely at my lips,
Crawling around lightly
Like a steam engine
Going by at hours counted
By my tick-tock heartbeat.
