Wildflower (day 2116)

Dancing through the Kingdom of Joy
Alone, the rupture had a sentence
A package of unexpected buoyancy
Laid about thy path.

Oh, shame shame the clouds have come
Accept thy fate and look back no more
Forgive each breath you once deplored
Let run deep thy river’s mane.

Stepping aside, a willow tree
Called thy name twice in vain
But on the third day, as time began
A shift in conscience pulled at thee.

Then with a rod of sixfold and reel
Twang at last, the pauper’s gold
Gifting all that had been told
Left alone in a field of wildflowers.

Ode to a Forest Tree (day 2115)

Every step you carry with me
A fragrance wafting so free
Your spine tingles the very clouds
Surrounding me, which I see
Which I love and become one
Of every day a deep inhale
That reminds me of pure ecstasy
A true embrace
A truth I remember and carry home
To set my mind upon the ledge
Of your clear visage.

Rippling Madness (day 2098)

I woke into a fright
Although I had it under control
I charged ahead
I yelled out loud
My fierce was pounding lurch
For left into my rippling mass
A spearhead lodged between
My very fourth and fifth rib
Grazing my own beating heart
I looked into wild eyes
Victor of my battling stone
True friend in waking hours
Had become distant as a cloud
To which my heart that had beat for
Beat for nevermore.

Moon Mind (day 2092)

Tell me how time came
Took away my mind
Left me floating in a cloud
– So low –
Mississippi river’s got my soul
Floating down my day
Hanging from a big fir tree
Gone between its cracks
Watching for the moon to show
My river rambles on.

Autumn’s Wick (day 1937)

As Autumn’s candle blows clouds away
Sharpness enters into this day
At the cost of blue one cannot say
The geese should fly today.
But as Hermes doth say,
“Winter, come our way,”
So must we abide by nature’s law.
And here we are amidst the fray
Swirling leaves on an Autumn day,
And frost spreading it’s silver lining
Along the open grass
With little paw prints
Bustling here and there,
To prepare for Winter’s deep lair,
Shelter and warmth bites the air
Though Autumn’s wick doth get shorter.

Whisper in Desire (day 1892)

The heart
A sloven machine
A soft machine
Calling at the moon
As sun sets lavender
And calm doves
Whisper in desire
With faint sound clouds
Of my heart

Impatient Midnight (day 1851)

A cloud pulled at my ear lobes
And took my tingling nose
To an open pasture –
Exposed and sunken into slumber –
Tip-tapped drearily by menacing trinkets
And coo’ed at softly from a shallow hallow
Where an owl waited for midnight’s feast
With an impatient air.

Ode to a Valley (day 1764)

If I were an eagle
I’d be here, soaring free
Sweeping through your narrows
Upon gusts that never slow.
And if I were a rain cloud
I’d pass by every time
To feed this valley floor with
Water, for to see you forever full.
And if I were a hungry bear
I’d find my way to you
To feed upon your wild berries
And fish upon your stream.
And if I were forever wiggling
My white tail, bounding free,
I’d seek your meadow pasture
To fill my belly overflow.

Ode to the Clouds (day 1760)

In all my years of traveling days
You’ve been there by my side,
Led me ahead when I’ve been lost
Followed me close as I ran fast.
And when I pause to give you space
You’ve never let me down,
You’ve always shown me in animate
Horses and dinosaurs and ducks, sure!
Amidst visions I’ve of you,
Crumbling, rumbling, rambling and full.
Breaking and spitting and spinning too
To bring me closer yet, to you.
So when you are my lungs, I am all yours,
When you are so high, so far,
You are my dreams I send afar,
And when my sleepy eyes first wake,
It’s to the sky I send my morning eyes.

Ode to the Wind (day 1756)

Into my ears did whistle harmony
Not of my mind or in my thoughts
But wind, easy wind to fill me up
With dear, sweet oxygen.
And to my friend I inhaled in
The deepest breaths I could bring
To fill my lungs so full, I smiled.
For my liberty was brought to me
So free my mind, so free my body,
So free my soul to float on to
A cloud, where I’m with you.
