Don’t go
Fluttering butterfly
In this morning glow of sun
I’ve only just noticed you
And I’d like to see you more
It reminds me of a summer shore.
I know your mission
Is to float away so quick
Off to find another spot
In softness of this wind
You go and come again.

Difference (day 3197)
Land wore gloves
For the first time
And didn’t fit right
There was no breath
No inhale
Just exhale and sweat.
A pause broke the noise
So softly
As the butterfly
Inaudibly
Sat down to rest.
Given Name (day 3105)
I slept on the bear
That woke up my name
And reached for the honeybee hive.
I staggered and shook
And stepped back three steps
And spoke my name backwards
Three times.
Then from my breast
Awoke a lone loon
Who sang as though
Fluttering butterfly,
But my loon dove deep
To find my name’s meaning
Returning two moons later
With pure truth.
And I sat still
On pine cone tree
Listening to the name I was given.
Field of Enjoyment (day 2905)
I am slipping into a field of enjoyment
Clouds filled with brown eyed susans
Heat waves on the horizon
Dance with the butterflies
While my morning songs waft softly
Over the dewy tips of wild flowers.
Hello, my dear,
I am home.
Eavesdropping (day 2757)
Butterfly moments
Give the Gossip Queen
Her alibi
Restlessly involving
Carnations
Eavesdropping on
Clouded repercussions
That lay awaiting
In a warm cup of coffee
Steaming
Retrace (day 2648)
I’ve sponsored your heart
Into the creamspace of my cranium
No longer butterflies floating
Birds chirping
Dolphins laughing
Or worms digging,
Just a heartbeat
Sponsored by your thought
Which I care to embrace
And hope to retrace.
Beaming Sun (day 2638)
For you I saw the sun
Nestled within your eye
Sunflower in the sky
Not a cloud to join.
So a butterfly wove
Thus the day begun,
Which you remained
This beaming sun.
Sandy Sheets (day 2636)
Dusty winds upon the sea;
Take a trip with me,
Beyond the breakers
Softly, swiftly,
A butterfly and free.
Wish upon a shooting star;
Sandy sheets a gift,
Like marveling
In an underground sea,
Floating forever free.
Butterfly (day 2385)
Little butterfly held my hand today
And sweetly sang a song
Each beating wing an instrument
I’ve never heard before
To my ears rushed ten thousand notes
Beating heart metronome
Off again, shifting breeze
Flutter sends my heart.
Dry Run (day 2302)
I will accept your blinding
The butterflies that come to rest
But I will not accept your reckless
Washing down the valley side
Crevices deepending
As years transcending
This memory I should have discarded
When the water ran dry.
