Untouchable (day 2680)

Let us be the untouchable
Run wild through monumental backdrops
River flowing freely
Let us be the untamed
The fear left in shaking hearts
Icicles running clear
Let us glean our sweat
Upon backs of deep gray rocks
Ancient fungi crawling closer
Let our roots be forever deep
And our height, untouchable

Dare These Wings to Fly (day 2595)

Dare these wings to fly
Though they ache like grace feels shy
And the good calls lonely
With each sunset it watches,
Walking away from pennies on the pavement
While holding on to nothing
– No resemblance of life.
Can a rhythm be found?
A pulse of life struggling
With iron clad hemispheres
Buckling down a goodnight.
So there, can flight be had?
Geese migrate South
As these trees set in
For an evening of dew
And a pale awakening
To ancient songs of return.

Primal Experiences (day 2535)

I’ve grabbed on to the primal experience of holding you
One fist grabs and caresses the creases
That keep running down the back of my spine
Spinning reality into a sequence of verses
That forgive me for thinking these thoughts.
But in the alleys of my caresses
That pigeon hole my expression like a crab upon my toe
I’ve gone beyond what I used to call fairness
To a land of sacred union
Derived from the ancient practice of you.

My Last Innocent Breath (day 2315)

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A welcoming insight
Of two parts become one.

I shall forget what has never been,
What has torn at me,
What has floated free,
What has carried our distance
Unbeknownst for so long,
I shall not be blinded
By our history.

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A chance of starlight
Emerging upon me.

It is for this that I shall wake
From slumber and deluge
Sprouting of new life
Upon the trunk of ancient ilk
Upon these paths formed
Carrying my thoughts
On towards you.

For this I shall save
My last innocent breath,
A ceremony of mine
Just in time.

Wrinkles (day 2243)

I patch your memories
With worn hands of leather;
Ancient wrinkles as a wind,
Smile from deep within.

Left hand to caress
Jaw line of your chin.

How lucky for the sun
To be stuck in orbit
With the moon,
How lucky for my star to be
Same sky as your moon.

Angel laying on warm sands
Of an Eastern sunrise
Morning gaze my heart away.

Patchwork of a life to be –
Fresh forever in the sea;
Love’s embrace and my wrinkles
Smile from deep within.
