Dirtbag Scumbag (day 1812)

Dirtbag scumbag
Roll my eyes into this guise
Made-up offending
Ruling this land
And let it be that we don’t care
For what sure aren’t feeling
And there’s a long line
Waiting for tattoos at
Minivan alley.
This ol’ destroyed board
Traded for a pinstripe man
Waiting down the alley
From hunger land
That never came:
Gone too far.

A Little Hole (day 1784)

Whisper in a little hole
Hold a deep deep breath
Extrapolate
Break strong bonds of resonate
Into a golden fire
Or let it gravitate
Magnetate
Magnetize those eyes
Ride on in a long line of sleepy songs
Brazen with a golden rod
In a tap tap world of
Like and go,
Like and go
And keep whispering
To a lost princess
Holding on to spring’s first tulips

Saying Goodbye (day 1778)

We got ghosts in our longjohns
And I’m dressed to be late
By the warm smokey campfire
Drinkin’ all the whiskey

I was undone on the train tracks
I was saying goodbye
And I didn’t mean a single word
‘Cause I was spread like a thread

If you ever need a fool
I’ll be the grass to grow
Where you can always find me
Howlin’ at the moon

Soul’s Grace (day 1741)

Rebuilt my soul last night
Fire burns inside now
I stapled criss-crossing formulas
To check my motivation
A bombtrack of intelligence
Lining my inner walls

Fire burns inside now
My militant mind is marching
Gates of your nevermore
Re-purposed as my forever glory
Forever trodden
Mariachi marching band

Rebuilt my soul last night
Fire burns inside now
Re-wrote all of my devotion
To align with my new design
And tore my heart apart
As it now tick tocks to my soul’s grace

Like Fire (day 1732)

I do not enjoy this closed solution
These open arms like fire
A road well worn in a town well shorn
And a voice long gone raspy.
Do you try so hard
To make the wolves howl loud?
I’ve seen a tree grow straighter
Then your twisted mind
And I’m closing down
This memory
That’s holding onto me like fire.

Setting Sun (day 1730)

I am sorry for the overdraft on expenses
For the withdrawal of complete funds
And exercising my options.

But I’m not.

I’m lying and it’s not a puddle of sadness.
I’m drowning and it’s not because of the waterline,
It’s a challenge and that’s just alright.

Cause Momma’s pullin in six figures
And Daddy’s got a gun
And I ain’t coming back from paradise
‘Til long after setting sun.

Shack in the Mountains (day 1723)

Left my heart up in the mountains
I’ll need a shovel to get it back
One too many lonely days
Without a warm gunnysack.

Had a song bird on my deck
Whistling a tune I’d never heard
Sent for a fine six string guitar
Came back with an ol’ banjo.

Went off in the meadow with my lover
She had on a little backpack
Got stuck in a swamp with little booties on
Came out with her bare feet black.

Oh, troubles around every corner
Whether you’re looking back or not
Creek still runs, dog still laps
And I’ve gone back to my lonely shack.

Bajo Agua (day 1707)

Lost in no time
I was a sequence unheard of,
Agua bajo la lluvia,
Mano en mi mano.

Windy night blew into my eyes
Opening up from surprise,
Agua bajo la lluvia,
Mano en mi mano.

Attached to what had fed me
Alone, except sweet frozen Gaia.
Agua bajo la lluvia,
Mano en mi mano.

Silence is what pattered
As breath held onto each echo,
Agua bajo la lluvia,
Mano en mi mano.

The Song I’ve Never Sung (day 1701)

This is the song I’ve never sung,
A lonely tree in the meadow
My faith watching it snow.
Because something isn’t clearing my fog,
And I’ve done up my boots too tight,
And the bridge is falling to it’s knees,
And some will cry as I’m walking on by.
But count out blessings in a well worn palm
With two bluejays resting a while,
Strange mountains silence is broken
And darkness slowly lifts as awareness shifts
Back into what I’ve never left.
