Fragments of Meaning

Take my visual fragments
And place them at the foot
Of an old chedi,
For I don’t want my queues
To scatter my own thoughts
Like a back alley
I’ve stood for too long admiring.

Take my meaning
And lessen it’s grip
For it crawls
And has not yet learned
The intricacies of
Falling and getting up,
Though these scuffed knees
Have surely tried
Against the pain.

Hold my hand and remember
That I’m not here for a long time,
This shall become dust
And my subscriptions shall expire
Like organics back to earth,
Like music into silence
For it is without question
That life surely begets death.

Fragments of Meaning by Ned Tobin

Old Chedi

And so spoke the heart song
Softy renovating each edge
To include a space for memories
That helped caress harmony;
A state of living
That slowed down
And remembered to breathe
Like the infinite bliss
And awakening
Found while sitting
At the foot of old chedi.

Early Morning Hour

In the early morning hour
Wind seems to lay down
Rising sun sets out to warm
Every frosty blade of grass
And when my horse is saddled up
I mount my trusty steed to roam
Every bit of our home range
To find my cows and learn the land
For my life I’m setting out
Warm coffee in the morning
Another day to go about
In this early morning hour.

In Our Light/Eyes (day 3216)

Remember that the brights of your eyes
Are the way we realize
That the answer is all around
That the truth is the sweetest sound.
For in our misunderstanding
Lost in digital confoundry,
Is a lesson we can learn
Of the value we each share.
Physical and presence bring to bear
So we can see it in our eyes
And come to realize
We are all sharing this bead of light
So consequential in our lives.

Another One (day 3214)

Working like a dog
Since Ive been meaning to go home
And my good woman
Who I left there
Has the patience of a Queen.
Every day the sweat leaves me
Too tired to go on,
But sun again rises high
Sending me off into the fields.
I smile out there
To the whole expanse,
Thinking how I have been so lucky
To wake beside a beautiful
Human who cares for me,
And then to work amongst the birds
Who sing so playfully
To wish me luck upon my way
Another beautiful day.
