Rocking Chair (day 2508)

Soon we will be done
Floating senselessly in ritual
Buried deep in our catch-up
That niether makes sense
Or rolls smoothly
Just a monotony that drawls
As a smooth Southern Man
Takes his whiskey
Seamlessly sweeping into time
Along a homestead porch
Watching a dust storm
Sitting in a rocking chair.

Abound (day 2507)

I wonder where the time has gone
As I lay here on my back
Wondering what choice has taken you
Back pages which I look back.

I loved you when I had no answers
No reason, yet I felt drawn on
Forward my heart has always lept
Trust forever grows stronger.

I see your vision still in front of me
As I carry thoughts about my day
A mixture of emotions that
Send my heart abount, aflutter.

Overflow (day 2505)

I will overflow the river
I will bend down deep to fill my pail
And hurry to the side of my homestead
I have built this domain
With all I have
My two hands, heart, and family
And tomorrow I shall rise
As the new day unfolds
Ready to see the news
The clouds and trees
Shall blow my way
And trust I have the strength
To overflow

Cry as You Want (day 2503)

I have called out the ghosts of my wisdom
Lay them down upon the brow of my thought
Spoke to them like a soldier at his challenge
And a mother facing all of her fears

Cry as you want for the sun that has gone
But tomorrow it shall come again, my friend.

Bend around the world we cannot see
For it speaks to us subliminally
A coward backs away from what wants to consume
Stronger yet is that which stands up with a raised fist.

Cry as you want for the sun that has gone
But tomorrow it shall come again, my friend.

This Song (day 2502)

I sing this song to better me
To give away my peace
I sing this song of strength
To let it flow away
I sing this song of a righteous path
That gathers all the steam
I sing this song louder yet
To reach the ears of vain
I sing this song to overflow
The basins at each fountain
I sing this song of eternal youth
To keep our vigor strong
I sing this song out to you
For it is me who needs it most.

Healing Song (day 2501)

I played along a pathway
That led me to a gate
Two dogs awaited for my step
Took me far away
I stood upon a lookout perch
Vista in front of me
Here I fell into reverie
Lost in a sea of thought.

Pains that touched me
Held my hand
Cried at me in vain
Smoked me down atop that perch
Led me to my spot
For which I had been looking for
For which I had to stop.

My two dogs heard me
Which took me away again
They licked at the new wounds
I hadnt properly healed
They said to me that all in time
I’d learn to caress again
So there I lay upon the clay
One hand before my very heart
Singing the song I had to start.

Wild (day 2500)

A creek trickles its way South
Along the base of Willow Ridge
Leading each wild animal
To fields beyond.

My eyes catch a reflection
Sun hitting a circling eagle
Finding its meal
A superior huntsman.

Mid summer, so no cool breeze here
But running water keeps calm
All the nerves alerted
To sounds of the wild.

Depart (day 2499)

Your mornings woke me every time
I didn’t know how to say goodbye
We shared love stories far apart
Just like the moon sings to each star

Can you call me on the telephone
Let me hear your voice in my ear
Though you’re standing always so near
You’re my moon I’m singing so softly to

I’m never shy as I hold your hand
Electricity from your heart in mine
There’s always warmth in your embrace
Stay beside me now, let us never depart
